Kibori kuma (Japanese: 木彫り熊) is a Japanese rural craft of wooden carvings of bears.
This bear is specifically a Asahikawa carved bear. It is a "Shake Gui Guma" - Salmon Eating Bear which is depicted by the bear holding a salmon in its mouth and standing on all fours. The carving detail of the fur is particularly stunning on this bear. The makers mark is on the bottom foot.
