This is a fun piece of driftwood found on the beach.  It is a crate that was used for dried herring (migaki nishin みがきにしん) and it is from the town "Iwanai" (岩内) which is located on the island of Hokkaido at the top of Japan.

This crate can fit 2- 3 inch floats.

Condition: Very good. Nail rust marks evident.

Each piece is collected by me from my local beach in North Eastern Japan and posted directly from Japan.

*Glass floats not included
