This is a beautiful cast iron Japanese Koro incense burner in the shape of a pheasant. The Japanese green pheasant is the national bird of Japan.
The "wings" have three holes where the incense sticks can be placed and safely secured. It can be removed and other objects like tea light candles or small plants like succulents can be placed inside and enjoyed.
